Hello, this is Oli Green. And in these lessons, you will learn about creating a basic flow chart, creating an organizational chart, and creating a basic network diagram. And whenever we're creating a flow chart, our whole purpose is to show a process and to step through how something is created and what are the proper actions and steps to take. In this particular case, we're going to create a flowchart for a company hiring a candidate. Let's get started. So we're going to come over to our flowchart template, and we'll click on our flowchart template. And if you happen to not see the flowchart template, you can always go to File, go to New, and there's your flowchart template. Let's click the arrow and go back. And we also want to adjust our page orientation to landscape. And over on the left, we have our basic flowchart shapes. So we have our process, a decision, documents that are required to start and end, data, and a few other flowchart shapes. There is a protocol to how our flowchart is created, so we have to start with a start and an end. So we're gonna grab a start shape and drag it to our page. And we're gonna zoom in. And on our shape, we're gonna select, we'll zoom in just a little bit more, and on our shape we're going to add a port of hiring need. And we'll click away. So there's our start, and we want to add a process. Now, when you hover over your arrows to auto-connect, we have our top five shapes. So our top five shapes that are showing up here are going to show up to the right of our arrow. And we're going to click on process. And more than likely, our process is the most common shape that we're going to choose. So there's our process. We're also going to choose another process and we're going to add another process. Okay, so our first step was to report a hiring need. And our next step is to record our hiring request. And we're going to work our way over to our next shape. We're going to prepare a job description. We're going to advertise the position. We're going to interview our candidate. So if we drag our shape, process shape, to the right, we can make our connection. So if you hover at the edge, you'll see these little green nodes. We're going to drag from one node to the other, and that's another way to make our connection. And we're going to interview our person. So let's select interview person. We're going to zoom out. And with the person, We expect our person to have either a CV or a resume. We're gonna hover down at the bottom and look for our document. And in the document, type in resume, CV. And we'll zoom out. Come down to the bottom. And we want to add more shapes. So again, more process. We're going to be using process shapes more than any other shapes. We'll also add another process, and another process, one More process, and an end shape. And if it's over too far, we can always select our shapes just by dragging the selection and moving them over. We'll deselect, and we'll add more information. So we want to select the candidate, and make the job offer. Make the job offer. And we'll select our third shape. And if our candidate accepts the offer, and there's a yes or no there. Deselect and we'll select again. Now, we've chosen the wrong shape. We actually want to choose our decision shape, so we'll come up to the top and we'll click on Shape. We'll come on over to left and we'll change the shape. So we can quickly change our shape. We'll scroll over some more. We'll hire the candidate. And that's the end. Okay. And we're going to hold down control and scroll out with our mouse wheel. Now what if we have to connect to our shapes here at the bottom? How will we do that? So if we hover at the edge of the interview person and we hover on our green node, we'll click and hold, we'll look for that little plus sign, and we'll drag to the end of Select a Candidate, and we'll let go. So we've plugged into that Select a Candidate. We'll come over to the right, and we'll drag left to right, left to right, left to right, and left to right. And we'll make our connections. Now also, if the candidate does not accept the job, we can simply come down to the bottom and go back into our pool of candidates. And this is our process for hiring a candidate for a position. Report the hiring need, record hiring requests, and we go through the rest of our steps. We have a resume along with the interview, select the candidate, make the job offer. If they don't accept, we go back. And if we do hire the candidate, that's the end of the process. Thanks for watching, and in the next lesson we'll learn how to create an organizational chart.
