The key goals of image analysis are object detection and isolation. There are two main categories of image analysis that are especially useful in MATLAB that image segmentation and object analysis. We’ll discuss in detail what Image analysis is, which it is the process of extracting meaningful information from images, such as finding shapes, counting objects, identifying colors, or measuring object properties. You’ll also go over segmentation, which is partitioning an image into parts or regions—nd this is often based on different characteristics of the pixels in an image, such as color or edges. MATLAB has a number of built-in functions and functionalities that make it easy to perform these and related tasks. In this MATLAB module, you will learn about image segmentation and object analysis as it relates to image analysis.
After completing this module, you will be able to apply what you learned to any project or task involving image analysis. This can be useful in any area where images and video are used with high importance. Specific areas and industries include art, television, and film.
