Let's discuss how to provide your new hire with their paperwork, give them an orientation, and some other tips for bringing them onboard all on a remote basis. There are multiple situations in which you won't be able to meet with your new hire in person to complete all the required paperwork. Maybe human resources are offsite or you're hiring someone to work remotely. In these situations, there's still an opportunity to create a meaningful onboarding experience. One of the best options is to buy electronic document signing software or to subscribe to a similar service. First, check with your payroll or applicant system provider. Many companies have electronic new hire paperwork features as an added service. You should review each service to see which one has the features that you need. In general, you want to be able to upload your new hire forms, create spaces where the applicant can fill in the needed information, and then be able to sign and date each document. As mentioned before, each country has varying laws for a citizen and non-citizens authorization to work. Along with the different laws, there are a variety of forms to complete and documents that need an in-person review. Discuss with your attorney the best way for you to remotely complete work authorization paperwork in a way that meets the requirements of the law in a timely manner. If done incorrectly, your company could face fines and penalties.
