In this course on Supporting the LGBTQ+ Community in the Workplace, we’ll teach you how to use more inclusive language in employee hiring, onboarding, and policies. You’ll learn to communicate more effectively in common LGBTQ+ conversations in the workplace, improve employee experience via allyship training and restroom policies, and overcome challenges from employees who are hesitant or resistant to welcome LGBTQ+ employees in the workplace.
Talking about LGBTQ+ issues in the workplace can be challenging. In this course, we’ll look at common LGBTQ+ conversations in the workplace, including coming out and using pronouns. We’ll also provide a comprehensive approach for sensitivity around gender transitioning for transitioning employees, their managers, and their coworkers. Unfortunately, there may be some employees who are hesitant or resistant to welcome LGBTQ+ employees in the workplace. We’ll explore some of the challenges these employees pose and ways to address them. These include fair treatment policies, clear policies on personal, political, and religious beliefs in the workplace, and safe space conversations designed to encourage respect and understanding among employees.
