Course Description

Revit has different methods for worksharing, and this course will explore the sharing methodology where all users are on the same local area network. This worksharing method, once enabled, will allow multiple users to all work on one Revit project. Worksharing is best carried out by carefully planning how to divide up a model into smaller element collections, better known as worksets, that are related to a specific area or job responsibilities. Once a project has been set up and enabled for proper worksharing, your teammates will be able to utilize local models and worksets to open and borrow elements and then relay changes back to the central model so that all team members can see the latest model updates.

In this Collaboration course, you will be introduced to Revit’s different methods of collaboration. You’ll get an overview of the worksharing process and learn how to apply this method to central model creation and making local copies of the central models. You will also discover the importance of worksets and how to create them, plus how to exchange updates with other contributors.

What You'll Learn

  • Discover the benefits of the worksharing process in Revit 2022
  • Apply worksharing to project setup and central model creation
  • Create local copies of central models for individual team members
  • Create worksets to divide a model into smaller element collections by area or job responsibility
  • Exchange changes and updates with other contributors on the project

Key Takeaways

  • Revit offers different methods of worksharing, and this course focuses on the method where all users are on the same local area network.
  • Once enabled, worksharing allows multiple users to work on a single Revit project at the same time.
  • Worksharing is best carried out by carefully planning how to divide a model into smaller element collections called worksets, related to a specific area or job responsibilities.
  • Team members use local models and worksets to open and borrow elements, then relay changes back to the central model so everyone can see the latest updates.
  • The course covers central model creation, making local copies, creating worksets, and exchanging changes with other users.
