Hello, my name is Christina Loffredo, and in these lessons, you will learn more in depth about the features Dropbox has to offer. This includes cloud storage and security, collaboration and productivity, sharing and syncing files, and the application known as Dropbox Paper. In this lesson, I will show you the different Dropbox cloud storage options and security features. Here we are on the website, www.dropbox.com/official-site. For the purposes of this lesson, we will be assuming that Dropbox is going to be used for personal use. If you click on For Work or For Personal Use, Dropbox will automatically take you into the paid-only plan offerings. To see everything, including the free option, you can choose either Pricing from the top menu here or Get Started from the top right above. They both take you to the exact same place. Here is where you can choose the right Dropbox for you. As you can see, there are different storage plans to choose from that vary from who's using the plan: individuals, household, solo workers, et cetera; how many people will be using the plan, and how much storage it provides. Dropbox also has a free plan with two gigabytes of storage for you to store and share your files. They also make it easy to view different plans at a glance. In this table, you can select the option that best suits your needs. If you scroll up and click on Sign Up for our Free Plan, this landing page will load, prompting you to create an account. Or you can log into an existing account, should you have one. You also have the option to click and download the app. We will get into downloading the application later on in this course. When it comes to security, there are a few options that will ensure that your files and folders are protected. Security is built into the Dropbox design, and offers some advanced features for those who want them. One of those features for personal use is called Dropbox Plus. This includes a password manager and a pin-protected file vault, which is an added layer of security. You can also restore or recover anything in your Dropbox account for up to 30 days, which affords peace of mind in the event of unwanted edits, deleting files by mistake, hacking, and exposure to viruses. We won't get into Enterprise in this course, but this is another choice for those in business who manage distributed teams and their content.
