In these lessons, you will create a simple lamp model with various modeling techniques using Maya’s modeling toolkit. Proper edge flow for animation and rendering will also be explored.
From the photo reference provided, you will set up and create an image plane in the orthographic viewports in Maya 2022. Using the basic modeling tools, you will explore various modeling techniques, including edge extruding, to create the cone of the base of the lamp. You will explore all the tools in Maya’s modeling toolkit. We’ll also cover NURBS (Non-Uniform Rational B-Splines) modeling for alternative modeling techniques. You will also learn how to avoid N-Gons by using the multi-cut tool. Using the new Sweep Mesh Tool, you will create and manipulate the arm of the lamp. Then you will mirror and create the switch with proper locking loops for smooth rendering.
You will create a simple lamp model, including its cone base, arm, switch, and the surrounding floor and walls, using Maya 2022's modeling toolkit.
It covers basic modeling tools, edge extrusion, NURBS (Non-Uniform Rational B-Splines) modeling, the new Sweep Mesh Tool, the multi-cut tool for avoiding N-Gons, and generating locking loops for smooth rendering.
It is a Maya 2022 beginner course focused on modeling techniques, suitable for those learning 3D modeling and Autodesk Maya, including preparation toward Autodesk Maya Certified User skills.
Yes. It explores proper edge flow for animation and rendering, and uses locking loops to achieve smooth rendering.
Lessons include setting up image reference planes, modeling the lamp cone, modeling the arm from a CV curve, modeling the lamp base, modeling the lamp switch, and modeling the floor and walls.
