The Notification and Federal Employee Antidiscrimination and Retaliation Act—or the No FEAR Act--was the first piece of American civil rights legislation of the 21st century and has been in effect since October 2003. Its intention is to keep federal agencies accountable to various antidiscrimination and whistleblower protection laws. That way, employees who witness and report wrongdoing will be protected against any potential retaliation for filing a complaint.
This course will take you through the No FEAR Act and how to keep compliant with it. After a basic introduction, you’ll learn about its three major requirements: Reimbursement, notification and training, and data reporting. The next segment will cover all the major antidiscrimination laws that federal employees need to keep compliant with, so they don’t violate No FEAR. The next chapter will tell you how to recognize and protect yourself against retaliation. The last chapter will talk about the process for filing a complaint when someone violates the No FEAR Act.
