Welcome to the lesson on the toolstrip. So during this lesson, I'll just give you a brief overview of the toolstrip in the MATLAB IDE. So the toolstrip is this area at the top. As you can see, it has three main menus. Home, Plots and Apps. So going back to the Home, you see that it's separated into different sections or categories. The first one is file, variable, code, Simulink, environment. And then finally, you have resources. So for a majority of what you will be doing especially as a beginner will be confined to the file, variable and resources sections. So for file, you see there's quick links for creating a new script, creating a new live script. However, if you click new, you see there's a number of things that you can do. So, it has Script, Live Script function, live function, class, test class. System object, project, and so on and so forth. The cool thing about this is that when you let's say, you click new function. It opens up a pre-generated code snippet and the editor. And so it has the basic format for your function to help you get started. So you don't necessarily have to do things from scratch. And it kind of ensures that you have the bare minimum of what's needed. So next, we have the variable section. Here, you can import data. So if you have a spreadsheet or a CSV or a text file or some other data file that you wanna import directly into your workspace or your project, you can just click import data and then navigate to the file and open it. So other things you can do here. You can create new variables, open variables, or you can clear your workspace. So if you've been working for a while, have a lot of different variables in your workspace and you're not really sure or you don't really need a lot of variables, then you can just clear it and start from scratch. And lastly, where we have resources, you see you have help. So there's documentation, there's examples. Or you can go to the support website. There's also this community button. And I'm not gonna click it right now, but if you do click it, it will take you to the MATLAB community website where you can ask specific questions that may not necessarily be answered or covered in the documentation. And there are other members from the community who are more experienced or who have encountered similar problems can help you out there. And finally, we learn MATLAB which will direct you to some resources to learn additional things about the MATLAB software and programming language. This concludes the lesson on the toolstrip.
