Hello, we are going to take a look at project management in Revit, and in this particular lesson, we're going to take a look at the Project Browser View Organization. Now before we get started, I'd like for you to note that I am using Revit LT 2022, so once you get that open, let's go ahead and follow along. Now, to start off, we're going to create a brand new project in Revit. So I'm gonna come over here under Models, click New and for create new, we're gonna create project, the template file I'm going to use is the Residential-Imperial template file. Just click on OK and while it's creating this template file, I would like for you to the project browser is already established and set to look a certain way. It has your views for your floor plans, the ceiling plans, it even has views for your sheets already listed out in here. We're gonna take a look at how to organize your views in this project browser, so to do this, you can do it one of two ways; with view all selected down here in the project browser, if you come over here to the properties pallet, you can click down on this arrow here for the browser views all and note that you can change to different view types. So if I change it to Discipline, notice now how the project browser has adjusted to now show it by disciplines, the views, let's come back up to the top, let's click this drop down and we can choose to show all that are not on sheets, so it's gonna show all of the views that are not yet on sheets and it's gonna show me these views, let's expand this, click back up in here and let's say we want it to show our views organized by Phase. So when I do this, under views, the only phase available is new construction and all of those views under new construction phase will be shown. Let's come back up here, choose from the last one, which is by type and discipline. So when I adjust it this time to type Discipline, it shows me the view types, which is floor plan types and then it breaks down to disciplines. Notice that as we made all of these selections, let's go back up here to all that under none of these, were we able to actually change the folders or the filters, see how folders and filters is still grayed out. Another way we can modify the view organization in the project browser is to come right down here on views all in the project browser, gonna right-click and we're gonna choose Browser Organization. When we do this, note that we are currently in the browser's views for Discipline and that is the one that is chosen when we open up this dialogue box for the browser organization. The selected one is going to be the one that is the one we're gonna modify while we're in here but the one that is checked when we close out is gonna be the setting that's gonna be applied when we close the dialogue box. So right now let's click on the Discipline one and let's click on Edit to take a look at it settings. In here, on the Filtering tab, there are no filtering done for the disciplines. Let's click over here on the Grouping and Sorting tab and you can see here that the groupings and sortings was set to by Discipline. I can change the group by to be any of these other parameters, we're gonna leave this as discipline and it's going to group them by discipline and currently is going to show all the characters for that discipline name. If I wanted to only show a few characters for that discipline name, I can then choose this option, and for example, if I wanted to be the first character of that discipline, I'll leave it at one and then let's go ahead and say, OK, just to take a look at those settings. So I'm gonna say, OK here, I'm gonna have Discipline checked and I'm gonna say OK here. Now when we come over here into our project browser, note, that it is showing us the views that are sorted by Discipline only showing the first character. If I click in here for A, these are for architectural, that may not be clear to someone who's not familiar with your setup, so let's go ahead and change that back. I'm gonna right-click over here, go to Browser Organization, make sure Discipline is checked, this as well as edit it and I can rename all of these or edit them all with the exception of all, when all is selected, you cannot edit or rename it or delete it but all of the others you can modify. So let's click back on Discipline, let's go back to Edit, let's go to the Grouping and Sorting tab and let's change this back to all characters, let's say OK, and let's say OK. So that was a look at your view organization with the project browser. Join me in the next lesson where we will take a look at project parameters.
