Hello, and welcome to Knowledge City's Revit 2022 Intermediate course. My name is Patrick Porter and I've spent several decades in the engineering and construction industry. I started my career as a drafter working mainly with the mechanical and process instrumentation disciplines. Along the way, I've taught drafting and design courses at the collegiate level. And I've spent the last 15 years now as a CAD Bim Manager where applications such as Revit has played a major part in almost every project that I've worked on throughout my career. In this course, you will continue to expand upon your understanding of the Revit application. We will cover more complex topics to increase your proficiency with the application. We will discuss an advanced layout creation and documentation within Revit. We will also cover detailing with Revit. You will strengthen your usage and understanding of the constraints and dimensions, as well as you'll be introduced into the Revit families and the family editor. And from then, you'll learn to create and modify schedules. Lastly, you will have learned to create and shed up sheets and learned how to plot these sheets all from Revit. Now, before we get started, I'd like to take a minute to talk about how we're going to cover the lessons in this course. Throughout this course, I'll be using either Revit LT 2022 or the full version of Revit 2022. Autodesk which is Revit's parent company also created the Revit LT version by starting with the full version of Revit and removing a few features to create a more cost effective application. Revit LT looks and feels much like the full version of Revit and the interface and menus of the application are almost identical with the exception that the full version of Revit is made more for multi-disciplined office and thus built for more collaborative design where Revit LT was more designed for a small architectural firm, which may not need all the features of the full version of Revit. The lessons you're going to receive in this course are all focused on learning the basics of the Revit application. And thus will apply to all disciplines, and that will allow you to follow along in either Revit or Revit LT 2022. On my screen, you'll see that I already have Revit LT 2022 open. And as I mentioned before, the interface and many of the features are very much the same. Revit is an excellent application, and it's very easy to use once you have a great understanding of how it's organized and operated. And I'm going to continue to make sure that it's easier for you to get to that level. So, let's get started.
