Hello, in this particular lesson, we're going to look at adding notes and leaders to our models. Before we get started, I'd like for you to note that I am in the adding annotations model. Once you get that opened up, let's go ahead and follow along. Now, let's go ahead and end this model. I am in level one, but we're gonna go down here to our legends view on the project browser. And under legends, there should be a legend one. Let's double click on that to open that up. We're going to use the text tool to add some text in here. And the text tool can be used to add text to any of our model views, our legend views, in any views from our sheets. And since you'll be likely using the text a lot, it is in the quick exercise too bar, also, you can access it from the annotate tab over here for text. Let's go ahead and click on the text right here, the A. And when you click once in here to start the text tool, the contextual tab changes to the modify place text tab. And over here you have controls for modifying your text, over here you have your leader controls, whether it's no leader, leader on one segment, curved leader, two segment leader. And then on this side, you can adjust the locations of the leaders, leaders at the top left, leaders at the middle left, leader at the bottom left, and on this side the reverse. Top right, middle right, bottom right. This portion over here aligns the top alignment or alignment to the left. This is gonna be your middle align, a middle align center, and then this is gonna be your bottom align, align right. This is for your spelling check, and this is to find a replace text within your model. Let's go ahead and just click once in blank space here, and then we can just type out our first piece of text. Type out this is text, and all text that you create in here can be considered multi-line text. All you have to do is press the Enter key, and it creates the next line. I'm gonna go ahead and press or click out anywhere in blank space to initiate that I'm done modifying the text here. To change the formatting of my text after it's been placed, all I have to do is select the text object again, click on modify, select the text object, and now I'm back in the modify text notes contextual tab, and I can adjust certain thing about it. So right now it is left align, I'm gonna change to be center align. If I wanted this top line of my text to be bolded for example, if I double click in here in the text, to be able to modify the text, I can now come up here and I can format the text. I can select this line, I can make it bold. Look at some of the options I have, like subscript, superscript. I can make this all caps without retyping it. Just press this button. If I wanted to add bullet items to my text, I can select the second line here, I'm gonna go ahead and make it all caps as well, and now with this line selected, I'm going to change it to be less bulleted. Gonna click on the end of here, press Enter, start my third line. I made a mistake, I didn't type it in caps, but no worries, I can select the text, come over here, capitalize it. When I'm done formatting the text, click anywhere in blank space to accept this. I can move the text by clicking on this drag icon and dragging the text anywhere. I can change the word wrapping of this text by dragging on this bar to the left or to the right. I can rotate the text from this symbol over here clicking on this symbol and just dragging. I can select this text and I can add the leaders to it after the fact. So with the text selected, I can come over here and I can add the leaders to the left. A leader is placed to the left. I can even add a leader to the right. Lets zoom out a little bit so we can see this. These leaders can be modified in their placement. To remove a leader with the text object selected, I can come over here to this tool right here to remove the last leader, and the last leader that was placed will be removed. To adjust the font of your text, that is gonna be controlled by the text type. Right now, when you load up a default template, you have the one fourth inch type and the three and three 30 seconds aerial type. You can adjust those in the settings for the type selector. alignment options over here with the text object. Click away. So that was a look at creating text objects in Revit.
