In this lesson, we'll be covering the basic overview of Google Meets. Why you may want to download the Google Meets app and the types of Meets we can create with Google Meet. So let's go ahead and look at Google Meet. There's usually about five ways that we can access Google Meet. We'll cover four of those and we'll leave the last one for our series on Google Chat, which you can also access Google Meet. So, that'll be the fifth way. So we'll cover the four ways to get into Google Meet and kind of the applications and things for that in this video, and then we'll leave the last Google Meet access for our discussion on Google Chat and how you integrate Google Meet into Google Chat. But let's go ahead and get started and look at Google Meet and look at some of the options. First thing we're going to do is look at how to set up Google Meet so that we have that getting a link, doing that kind of thing, and getting kind of the four common ways that we start a Google Meet. Okay, so what we can do is go to these little dots here at the top, go to Google Meet and that will take us to this page. And then from here, we can click start new meeting and we have a couple of options here. We can schedule in Google Calendar. We can start an instant meeting or we can schedule for later. The most common way that I've seen these actually built out, is schedule in Google Calendar. Instant meeting is, it will open the conference right now. Like instantly start the meeting. There's not a delay to it. You just jump right in and create a meeting for later. Creating a meeting for later has some advantages and disadvantages. Creating a meeting for later will allow us to send a meeting to just the link and we can open that link whenever we want and it's not restricted to a timeframe. So that's a way to do it. If you want like an open meeting, that's just you can use any time creating a link and just having that and having that where anybody can click it and go to that is actually really useful. And then we'll show you in the next video, some tips and tricks to kind of manage that kind of open platform. Google Workspace does offer some tools to help you manage kind of an open forum type meeting that this would facilitate. Of course, instant meeting is just gonna start right now but schedule in Google Calendar, this is often the one that you'll use for most business meetings. You'll agree on a time for a meeting. And then when you click it, it's going to pull up your calendar and then you name your meeting and you set what date and what time, and if this is a repeating process, and you just go up here and click through these and change your dates, times, time zone, if you need to do that. So when we do that, we've got it set for seven on the 18th. So we go ahead and click save. What that's going to do is give us then a meeting in our calendar and we can change the color, change the settings, do the things like we would in any other application. Okay, let's talk about one final note. When we set up our invites for our company within Google Meets or even clients, when we set our meeting, we're going to want to, so we can set it to not repeat, if you're doing a meeting every Thursday at two o'clock and you know that, you can set that to repeat. But we name our meeting here at the top and we can actually put special notes and where these notes will show up is when you send the email invite, it will actually look like an email with all the various pieces in it. Any notes that we put here and anything that we want to link to, let's say if we had a digital guide that we wanted or additional resources that we wanted, we could actually link those in the body of this notification that's gonna go out here. When we add our guest list and we click save, it's going to send this, any any notifications, any guides, any attachments. And we could put all that in here and even our links. And then that saves quite a bit on the kind of initial prep that we're gonna do every time we do a video call, we go over like the housekeeping stuff. Like here's links in chat for this, here's links in chat for that. But if they already have it such as a guide or a tutorial for anything that you're going to do, if they already have it or discount codes or whatever that you need, you can put that in this notification box and they will have it when they get the notification for their video conference. So you can say, hey, here's the digital guide for what we're going to discuss in this meeting. Here's some additional notes. Here's kind of some prep for the meeting. And here's a link to our last video call. 'Cause you can record those previous meetings and link those in Google Meet. So, that's a lot of options there that are available. And even on the free version side you still have the attachments, the links, and you just won't have the record. You won't have some, you're limited some on things like chat rooms, and co-hosts, and those kind of things.
