As a Human Resource professional, you have a responsibility to the organization, yourself, and the staff you support and serve. Human Resource professionals ensure that employees and leadership can perform the necessary functions to keep the organization in good standing. They are also entrusted to protect employees’ best interests, shape the culture of an organization, and to help an organization transition from one way of doing business to another. When an organization fails to put policies and procedures in place, it could leave both the organization and its employees unprotected or vulnerable to inconsistent business standards, misinterpreted employment practices, and breakdowns in communication.
In this Policy, Procedure, and Human Resources course, you’ll discover the reasons why policies and procedures are necessary in business, how they impact employee morale, and the role that Human Resources plays in developing them. You’ll also learn how policy and procedure interrelate and can mutually reinforce each other.
