There are many hazardous materials you might encounter while on the job. How can you ensure you’ll handle each material correctly? HAZMAT labeling gives you all the information you need to know about a substance; if you know how to correctly read the label, you’ll know how to keep yourself and others safe.
In this course, we’ll cover the different types of labels you might encounter in your workplace and the various organizations that standardize labels. You’ll learn to recognize the different classes, symbols, and warnings that are present on HAZMAT labels so you know what dangers the material poses and how to safely handle it. Finally, we’ll discuss the differences between labels for hazardous materials and hazardous waste, and why it’s important to be able to recognize both. By the end of this course, you will be able to effectively read and understand many different kinds of HAZMAT labels.
