Using pictures in a document can enhance a reader’s understanding and interpretation of the information. In Microsoft Word, there are a variety of ways to source pictures that you can use in your document. You may choose from pictures located on OneDrive, on the local device, in stock photos, or online. Once a picture is inserted, you’re able to adjust important settings using either the picture tab on the ribbon or the contextual ribbon that shows by right-clicking the picture. These settings include changing the size, color, and position of the picture, adding picture effects or borders, wrapping text around the picture, and more.
This series of lessons introduces the methods used to insert pictures into a document. Once a picture has been inserted, you’ll examine and apply common settings. You’ll also learn to embed online videos within a document, and capture screenshots to be placed as a graphic object.
