Hello, this is Ali Green, and in this lesson, we're going to design an office layout diagram and Visio Desktop. Let's get started. So here's the thing, for our Visio 365, we have a lot of different templates we can choose from. Unfortunately, we don't have all of the templates. So there are some templates and are also some diagrams that we're going to have to create from our Visio Desktop and then bring over into our Visio 365. And one of those diagrams that we want to create is an office layout. So we're in our Visio Desktop. We're going to come on over to the left and we're going to click on New. And after we click on New, we're going to look for that office layout. So over on the right, we have our various templates we can choose from, our wireframe mobile app, our basic flowchart, floor plan, we're going to scroll down and we'll look under Office. And under Office, you'll see Network, you'll see Flowchart, you'll see Software, you'll see Education, you'll see Business, you'll see Database, and you'll see Floor Plans. Let's click on Floor Plans. And after we click on Floor Plans, right at the top, we have our office layout. We also have our home plan and our floor plan and our directional map 3D. We want our office layout, so we're going to click on the office layout and we're going to open up that office layout in US units and we'll hit Create. And with our office layout, we have our different stencils that will open up with the template. So over on the left, we have our quick shapes, which includes a plant, a large plant, a PC. We also have our cubicles. So if there's any cubicles within our design, we have that. We also have our office accessories, which is a table, a coat rack, a vending machine, so whatever equipment we're trying to recreate in the office, we can do that. We come on over to left, we'll click on the office equipment. So we have a phone, a fax machine, we also have our office furniture, so a table, desk, chair. We're going to click on our walls, doors, and windows. And this is the room itself, so we have the room, the wall, and the door. So we're going to come on over to where we have our room, and we're going to drag our room to our page. And we'll hover at the lower right hand corner and we'll resize the room till it takes up the majority of the page. So now, if you look on the side, we have our dimensions for our room, so 15 feet by 19 feet. So with our office diagram, our dimensions are in architecturally. You can also set your dimensions for engineering as well. So they're not just in inches, but they're set as if we were building the room realistically. So if we come on up to the top and we click on view, and we work our way over to the left, you'll see your task page, you'll click on task panes, and click on shape data. In the shape data, we have the width and the length of that room. We'll close, and we'll add a few other parts to our room. So we'll come on over to left, and we'll grab our wall, drag the wall over. How we're at the edge of the wall, we're going to drag it at the top, grab the bottom, and drag it down. And if we hold shift, we can straighten out that line. So we've separated the room into two parts. And if one size is bigger than the other, simply grab the wall and move it over. We can also drag over a door, so we'll drag a door, put the door over here, and we can actually just change how open or how close that door is. And we also have a window. So we'll come on over to left, grab a window, we'll put a window right on the wall. And if we wanted to actually take care of the internals and take care of the space, we can grab our space, resize our space on the room. So we have a hatch on our room, and we'll drag another space, drag it to the other side, resize the hatch. And if we want to put a door at the bottom, we could. So we'll grab a door, we'll have a door at the bottom.
