Hello, this is Ali Green and in this lesson, we're going to create a Visio diagram and we're going to apply our themes to it. We're going to apply our color fills and our color outlines. Let's get started. So we have Visio 365 already open and we want to choose our flowchart template. So right next to all templates, if you come a little bit over to the right, you'll see your flowchart template. So we're going to click on our flowchart template and that's going to open up another tab at the top and it just takes a few seconds to open up. And once it opens, we have our page and portrait view. So we actually want to make our page landscape. We'll come up to our menu and we'll work our way over to design. And to the left, we have the orientation. So we're going to click on the orientation and click on landscape. So that's going to turn that page around. And really quickly, we just want to build a diagram. So it doesn't really matter which particular text we put in. We just want to have our diagram. So we're going to drag over our start and then shape to our page and we'll hover over our lines. And again, this is going to show us the top five shapes. So we'll hover on our arrow, we'll click on our shapes and our shapes. We'll hover and just click on a few more shapes. We'll drag our process shape down here at the bottom. And if Nibi will use our green lines and our smart guide, align our shapes and we'll hover at the edge. We'll click on that little green circle and we'll connect, connect, we'll connect and we'll connect. There we go. And if Nibi, we can select over everything and drag closer to the middle. Now if we're adding local changes to a shape. So if we click on our first shape and we come up to the top, we click on home and we simply want to change the color of this shape. So if you come on over to the right, you have your shape fill, we'll click the drop down and we'll change the color. Then we'll take the shape fill, change the color, we'll also come over to the right where we have our shape outline, we'll click the drop down and we'll change our shape outline color. And we'll also add weight to the line. So you'll get the weight under the line. If we hit the plus sign, we're going to zoom in just a tiny bit and we'll see the change on that line and we'll see that the outline around that shape change. Now what if you wanted to apply this color to this shape? So if we select our shape up here at the top, we're again still under home and we'll come on over to our format painter. So we're going to select our format painter. And because we had this shape selected initially, we can just simply click on another shape and that's going to apply the colors to our other shape. So we've just made changes to the color fill and the color outline and we've used our format painter. As we said before, those are our local changes. So local changes, we can make changes to a shape that we have already selected. So if we wanted to make changes through the themes, we'll come on over to design. And if you work your way over to the right, you have your themes. Now you have your themes and you have your theme colors. Now with the themes, each theme will have a collection of colors that are associated with them. So right now we have our office theme. And if we come on over to the right, you'll have your theme color. So if we click on a theme color, that's going to make the changes and that's going to change the overall theme. So we notice on the left, our shapes will actually change individually. And if we notice on the left, our shapes will be applied with a new color. So each category of shape will have a color to it. We'll click on a different color, different color and we'll see those shapes change, different color. And that's our theme colors. We'll come on over to left and we'll click on themes and we'll select our linear theme. And if you click on the theme colors, we'll see the theme that's associated with that color. We can also click on another theme, set of colors, click on themes, simple. And we see simple theme colors apply. And also we'll click on our parallel, we'll see our parallel colors and also our sequence, sequence colors. And we have no theme. And you'll notice that your theme colors can't be changed. So there's no associated colors with that particular theme. So we'll click on the theme again and we'll go back to the default view that we had before. Now outside of theme colors, we can also change our connectors as well. So we'll drag a selection over all of our shapes in our diagram and we'll come over to the right. We'll click on our connectors and we have our right angle connector, our straight lines and our curved lines. So if we click on the right angle, not much of a change. So that's already set at the default for the right angle. If we click on our straight line, we no longer have any angles and our lines are all straight. Now with everything still selected, we'll click the dropdown and we'll go to curve lines. And our curved lines are sort of rope-ish. So we have rope-like lines. Now also, let's say you wanted to change the direction of your diagram. So if we click on diagram layout, we can choose from top to bottom. And if we click the diagram layout again, we can choose from bottom to top. So it reverses. And if we hit the plus sign and if we hit the minus sign, we'll zoom out. And also with the diagram, we can select from left to right and right to left. That'll expand the page, but it'll change the direction of the diagram. Also compact tree, as well as down then left. So each one will give us a different direction. So again, we'll go with top to bottom and that will bring us back to this first choice. We also have left and down and we also have circular. So there's a few different options that we can choose from. So we've made those changes. So for our connectors, our themes, and we've changed the position and the flow of our diagram. Thank you guys for watching and I'll see you in the next lesson.
