Hello, this is Ali Green. And in these lessons, you will learn exploring the Visio environment, exploring the backstage view, and exploring the Visio templates. Now, in order for us to use Visio 365, we have to have Microsoft 365. So I'm assuming that we have Microsoft 365 and we're signed up to it. And in order to find it, we can easily just do a Google search, Microsoft 365 login, and we can click. And once we go to our login, we'll have to just sign in. So we're on our login page for Microsoft. We're going to click sign in, and we're going to sign into our account. So whatever your username is, you can put that in there, and we'll also put in our password. So if your password has been saved like mine has, it's already in there, and we'll just click sign in. And once we're in, you'll notice that we have not just Visio, but other applications to search for. So we have stay signed in, and we'll stay signed in. So we've opened up our Microsoft 365, and we have most recent files that have been opened up, no matter what the application. On the left, we have our various applications to choose from. We still don't see the Visio, We'll have to come up to the waffle. We'll click on the waffle and we'll see all of the applications. Still don't see Visio at the bottom. Click on all apps and scroll down. And it should be in alphabetical order. And we have Visio. So we'll click on Visio. That's going to open up a new tab and that will take us to our Microsoft Visio. So as we said before, we want to explore the environment. And Visio's purpose is to create diagrams where we can visually convey our concepts and ideas. So we have our new page where we have a blank drawing, flow chart, basic diagram template, organization chart, and a few other options. We're going to click on our basic diagram chart, Log in, that's going to open up another tab. And once we have that diagram open, we'll see at the top we have the name of our file, and it'll be saved. So it's gonna save automatically whenever we make new changes. So we're gonna come over to the left. We have our File tab. So when you click on the File tab, that's gonna take you into your Backstage view. And that will give you home, that'll give you new, and open. So we'll hit the arrow to go back, and we have our home, and we have our insert, design, review, view, and help. And We can also open up the application in the desktop version. Over on the left, you have your panel for your shapes, and we can search for our shapes. We can also click on this arrow to expand and collapse that panel. And over on the left, we have our shapes, our stencils. So we have our basic shapes, arrow shapes, graphs, and math shapes. And we can always add in a new stencil at any time. So depending on which diagram you choose will determine what particular stencils will accompany that diagram. Over on the right we have our page and at the bottom we have our page 1. We can easily zoom in and zoom out with our zoom on our page. Let's come over to our basic shape and let's drag over a square, circle, and a triangle. We'll zoom in on our three shapes. So at the top we have Home, and under Home we have Cut, Copy, and Paste. So we can easily select our square, copy, and then paste. We paste that shape. We also have the ability to type in our font and change the font color. So if we click on the shape, we can simply just start typing, deselect, select again, change the size. And that'll change the size of that text within that shape. We can also change the color. And when if we click on the three dots, we can bold and change the font style. You can also change the alignment of the text within that shape, as well as rotate the shape and the text within. We can also create and drag and create a new text box. Deselect. And we can also create other shapes as well, rectangles, squares, lines, circles. And with our shape still selected, we'll come over to the right. We have our bucket. Change the color, change the stroke around that shape. And if we wanted to work on the alignment, so if a square is slightly to the left and this one's slightly to the right, We'll hold shift and select both, click on the alignment and change the left alignment. So they now both align to the left. At the top, we're gonna click on insert. And under insert, this is where we can actually insert our picture. So if we have a picture saved on our computer, we can put our picture here. We also have our online pictures we can look for, as well as stock images. The text box shows up in more than one place. So we have our text box again. We also have the ability to draw our shapes, add comments, and add links between our pages, and also to URLs on the outside of Visio. We come up to the top, we're going to click on design. In design, we can quickly change our page orientation. So we're right now we're on landscape. We'll go to portrait and we can switch back again. We also have our page size, our page size is that letter We can click on legal. We can also click on it again, change it to A4. Click on it again, change it to letter, and that'll switch it back. We also have the ability to auto-size our page. So if we grab our square, drag it outside of the page, that's gonna extend that page. We'll drag it back, click on the auto-size, drag it back out, and that page no longer extends. We can change our theme. Our theme is a collection of different colors. Easily change that theme. Over on the right you have your theme colors. We'll click the drop-down. We can apply a theme color. There we go. So our themes within our themes. We can also add connectors to our shapes. Now if we have shapes selected, we can't really add the connectors, so we'll have to deselect the shapes and drag from the green circles from one to the other and get our connectors. You can also control the layout of our diagram. At the top, we're going to click on Review, and we can add our accessibility to our shapes for people that are hearing impaired and sight impaired, as well as new comments. Click on View, and we have our quick shapes. Now, when you hover over a shape, you have arrows that will pop out of your shape, and you'll get your quick shapes. Your quick shapes are the top five shapes at the top. If we hover, we can easily just add in a new shape. If we turn off the quick shapes and we hover, we don't see the quick shapes. So we'll click on it again, hover, and there's our quick shapes. We also have our page break, so we'll see where our page break is. Click on page break, and the page break no longer there. Click on page break again, and it returns. We'll click on our smart guides. Now with our smart guides, if you hover on your shape and you grab, you'll see the green outline that will allow us to eyeball the top, the middle, and the bottom of our shapes. We can also turn that off. And if We hover, no green line. Click on it again, and it brings it back. We also have help, so we can contact support, any sort of feedback, any new features. Come up to the top, click on Shape, and we also again have our Shape Fill, Shape Outline, the ability to quickly change our shape. And we also have our connectors as well. Over on the left, we have our Shapes panel, and as we said before, we can actually just click on a different stencil and get a different group of shapes. Below the page, we have our Page 1 and the ability to create new pages. We can also zoom in and zoom out. So Vizio is a fantastic program with many features. We've walked through our environment. We've talked about Home, Insert, Design, Review, View, Help, and Shape. We also went into the backstage for File. We talked about our Shapes panel. We expanded the Collapse. We talked about our pages at the bottom. We've zoomed in and zoomed out. And we've experimented with our shapes. Thanks for watching. And in the next lesson, we'll learn how to explore the backstage view.
