While commonly used options such as font, color, size, and highlighting are available in the online version, if advanced character formatting is needed, we’ll move the document into the Word desktop app. The app offers the use of expanded options such as character spacing, scale, and position, and also the ability to add text effects. Themes take a comprehensive approach to document creation and formatting, building upon the proper use of styles. We’ll compare the Themes feature in the desktop version of Word with the Designer feature in Word online.
