Hello, this is Ali Green and in this lesson we're gonna create a flow chart. And whenever we're talking about our flow chart, our flow chart is a way of developing and visualizing a process that we may have to go through. In this case, our process is going to be hiring a candidate for a new position. And what are the steps that we have to go through for each candidate? Let's come up to file at the top, come on down to new, and we're gonna look for our basic flow chart. So you can see basic flow chart here. And as we said before, if you do a search on for your online templates, you can find basic flow chart. We're gonna click on basic flow chart. And we have our basic flow chart. We want it in US units. We're gonna click on create. We have our empty page for our basic flow chart. We're gonna come over to the left and we have our basic flow chart shapes, our process, start and end, decision, document, data, and other basic flow chart shapes. Also, and we're not gonna use this in this particular lesson, for the process, you can check your diagram to see if you're using the shapes properly. Let's come on over to left. And the first shape we would use is the start and end. Now you wanna make sure that you go under view and you have the auto connect selected. So when you hover over the shape you'll see the arrows coming out of the side of the shape, okay? And those arrows are gonna give you the first four shapes. So this is our first shape. And we're gonna add in some other shapes. So we're gonna click on that blue arrow, click on the process. We also have our process again, oops, that's not our process. We're gonna hit delete, hover, click on the process to. And we drag over our shape and we drag it on the blue arrow. There's one more process. Drag over our shape on the blue arrow. And there's one more process as well, okay? So if we zoom in, we can hold control and click on this first shape. And we're gonna report a hiring need. Okay. We're also going to record our hiring request. We're gonna prepare a job description and we're also gonna advertise the position. And we also want to interview the person. And when we interview the person, the documentation we want them to have is their resume. So we're gonna drag, let go, and select, and write in resume. We'll hold control, scroll down on our mouse wheel and we'll zoom out just a bit. Now, if we wanted to add more shapes we can simply just grab and drag our shapes to our page and continue through our steps. Now, if there's places where we don't have the connections that we want and we wanna add in our own connections we can simply come on over to home, click on connector, and at the end of interview process, we're gonna click and hold, drag to the other side here and let it go. And if there's a continuation of a shape, so for example if this is select a candidate, let's click on a pointer tool and a select on our shape, we'll click on select a candidate. So at this step in a process we're gonna select a candidate. We're also gonna make a job offer after they've done the interview. Now what happens if the candidate accepts? We hire 'em. And this is the end. Now, if they happen to not accept, we're gonna make a connection, connector at the bottom, accepts candidate, drag over, and select our line, the pointer tool and type no. And that'll bring us back to selecting another candidate in our pool. So this is our flow chart, and as we said before, the purpose of our flow chart is to walk through a process. In this case, we wanna walk through hiring the right candidate for a job. We've dragged over our basic flow chart shapes, we've used connectors, and we've created our entire process.
