Hello, this is Ali Green, and in this lesson we're going to look at different ways to add connections between our shapes. Now our connections help with the direction of our shapes for our viewer. So our viewer can look at our connections and our shapes, and determine the flow and the position of our diagram. Let's get started. We're gonna come up the file at the top, come down to new, and if we come on over to the right, we're gonna look for our basic flow chart. Now, if you don't see your basic flow chart at the top, we can always do a search for it. But because we see it here, we're gonna click on it, and we're gonna leave it on US units, so it'll be in inches. And we'll hit create. So we have our shapes, and we have our basic flow chart shapes, and we're gonna drag a few of these shapes to the canvas now. But first we're gonna come up to view, and we wanna make sure that our auto connect is on. So we're gonna drag over our start and end. We're gonna hold down control, and we're gonna scroll up on the mouse wheel, just to zoom in. Now, when we hover over our shapes, we're gonna have our blue arrows. And our blue arrows are gonna be the auto connect, so the first four shapes are the shapes that are gonna show up when you hover over the blue arrow. Now of course, if we click on the auto connect to turn it off, and we hover over our shape, no blue arrow. But we're gonna click on the auto connect once again, and the blue arrow comes back, so if you hover, you have your first four shapes, we're gonna click on our rectangle, hover again, click on our rectangle, we'll scroll over, okay. Hover, click on the rectangle. Now, if a decision happens to come between these two shapes, what will we do? So an easy way to handle that is to simply drag a decision right on top of the line, and you'll see little green dots as an indication of where you're about to place your shape. Let's let go. And our decision comes in between our shapes. We're gonna click on process, drag another process over. Another process over, and another process over. And we wanna make a connection between these shapes, so we're gonna click on home and connector. Let's click on connector, hover at the edge, and we'll notice these gray boxes that are connections. So if we click on view, turn off the connection points, we can make the connections but we don't see the gray boxes, so we'll click on it again and the gray boxes come back, and if we click and drag, we can make our connection from one to the other, from one to the other. And there we go. We can also come on over to design and change the theme. Just a quick way to change the look, and also a variant if needed. So in review, we've talked about our auto connect, we've dragged our shapes to our page, and we used the auto connect to create connections between our shapes. We also dragged a shape between our connections to make a new connection, and we also used the connectors to connect to our shapes. Thank you guys for watching, and I'll see you in the next lesson.
