In this lesson, you will learn how to use the OneNote mobile app on your device. So let's go ahead and get started. I'm gonna start with walking you through the download process of the OneNote mobile device application. To access this application, please note that I'm currently using an iPhone. If you're using another phone, or another type of phone, the process in which you download an app and the visuals of the app might appear different than this demonstration. Although features will remain the same, it is possible that the process in which you open, load, sign in and use the application might be specific to your device. So let's go ahead and get started. The first thing I'm going to do is located the OneNote mobile device application. To do this, I'm gonna go through my phone App Store. I'm going to go ahead and click on my App Store and search for OneNote. You can see that I already have OneNote typed into the search bar. Then I'm gonna scroll down and look for OneNote. It's important to note that there are many types of applications that include notes. You want to make sure that you download the correct Microsoft OneNote application. You can indicate that it's the correct one because it'll have Microsoft before the word OneNote, and it will have a purple file. Once you see that correct file, you can go ahead and click the Download button, which will be to the right of the title. Once you click on that Download button, it'll start the process for the download. This may take a minute for it to fully download. Keep in mind, in order to access your App Store, you may have to be connected to your internet. Once it downloads, it'll prompt you to open it. We'll go ahead and click Open now. When you click open, you'll notice that you have the option to sign up for free or you have the option to sign in. Since we have an account, we're gonna go ahead and click the Sign In now. It'll bring us to our Microsoft login page. This login page looks identical to how you log in to the application from both the online OneNote application and the desktop OneNote application. We're gonna go ahead and sign in now. Once you enter your username, or your Microsoft email, you will then be prompted to put in your password. Similar to the online application or the desktop application, you do have the option to click Forget password to reset your account and enable you access in case you do not know your password. If you know your password, you can enter it now. Once you've entered your password, you're going to click the blue sign in button that's located on the bottom right-hand side of the password option window. You will notice that it's prompting you through a sign in process. It will walk you through the privacy agreement. If you agree to the privacy agreement, you can then go ahead and hit the purple Next button. You then have the option to accept or decline different aspects of data with OneNote. You can choose to accept or decline after you finish reading. It'll then walk you through one more question process that helps to enable your experience with OneNote. You can then click OK. Then it'll start to load your notes. Remember, similar to the desktop application, and the online application of Microsoft OneNote, your accounts are connected, meaning that your notes will show on your mobile device. We have the option here to enable notifications. Notifications give us the ability to see when people have made changes to our notebooks. People with editing access may go in and add edits, and through a mobile device, we can get a notification that says when edits have been made. You can choose to enable notifications or disable notifications. I'm gonna go ahead and click OK now. When we click OK, your phone might walk you through an additional security measure that allows you to allow notifications on your mobile device. Now that we're signed in, automatically without even clicking anything, my notebooks have popped up as listed. These are all the notebooks that we've created. This is identical to the home page that you see on the Microsoft OneNote application online. This process looks a little bit different than the desktop application but as you can see here, it's showing me my notebooks. It also tells me that my is my default notebook. That simply means that's the notebook that was assigned to me from the very beginning when I had no notebooks made yet. You can also see that my files and my notebooks read used recently when I've made edits. Clearly this is the first time I'm accessing the app from my mobile device but because I was working online, my edits are tracked universally through the three applications, the online application of OneNote, the desktop application of OneNote and the mobile application of OneNote. In the next lesson, we'll go over some features with the mobile application that differ from the desktop and the online application. This has been how to download and access your Microsoft OneNote application from your mobile device.
