In this lesson, you will learn how to prepare forms, and design forms for mobile-friendly use. So let's go ahead and get started. The first thing I'm gonna show you today is the Optimization tool. To optimize your PDF to mobile standards is probably the quickest and most efficient way to make sure that your form or PDF is mobile-friendly, and able to be accessible and editable through the mobile device. So let's go ahead and get started. The first thing you're gonna do is go to the Tools tab on the upper left-hand side. And then you're going to find the Optimize PDF option. You're gonna go ahead and click on the Optimize PDF option. When you click on this Optimize PDF option, you're going to go to the Advanced Optimization option, which is located on the secondary toolbar towards the middle just above your PDF. You're gonna go ahead and click on Advanced. And you will notice that automatically, Adobe Acrobat has placed settings for your PDF to be standard. Now, if you hit this dropdown menu, you will see that you have got the option for Custom, or you've got the option for Mobile. You're gonna go ahead and select Mobile. By selecting Mobile, you'll notice that some of your elements in the Image Settings, the Grayscale Images and the Monochrome Images have shifted. This is because it's optimal for mobile devices to be with these settings. Let's go on back to Standard and see the difference. If we click on Standard, you'll see that all of a sudden, the Color Images is now 150 PPI, 150 PPI and 300 PPI. Whereas if we go to the Mobile, you'll see 96, 96 and 600. So this is optimal for a mobile device. This is specific to a mobile device use. If you were to share this document with somebody that could access this on their mobile device, sign it, edit it, whatever needs to happen, this would be the most optimized version of this form. Now, if you were to customize your form, say change some of these settings, such as go to 99, you'll notice that now your settings has changed to Custom. This is because the presets that are set are specific to mobile device. And if you change any of the settings, it will be considered a custom setting, which is not an issue. If you feel like it's better to be 99 PPI opposed to the 96, you can adjust that. However, just know that if you're changing those small things, it's going to change it from Mobile to Custom. So now, we're gonna go ahead, and change it back to our Mobile. Now, another thing to look at too is in this section here, we have this box that's optional to be checked that says Optimize images only if there is a reduction size. This means that images will shift if need be. Now, let's go on through some of the other options. So this setting is specific to images. Let's take a look at Fonts. If we look at Fonts, one of the things that's automatically checked is the Do not embed any fonts. If we unclick this, you will see that now our preference has changed to Custom. So we have to be careful with what we change, and what we shift. So let's go ahead and move it back to Mobile. With anything that you click with on this list, it's going to change the settings, and it's going to move it to Custom. So do be aware of that. So if your settings are how you would like them, and you'd like to just keep them on Mobile, you can use the blue OK button that's at the bottom right-hand side. Now, it's going to ask you to save a new copy of this file because we have changed the standards of it. We're gonna call this Phone. Then, you're gonna click the blue Save button that's at the bottom right-hand side. And it goes to work and saves your document. Now what we're going to do is we're gonna go ahead and share this document. And then we're going to access it from a mobile device. Once you've selected who you wanna share this document to, and you say Allow comments, you're gonna go ahead and use the blue Send button that's at the bottom of this pop-out window. And it should send your form along. This has been how to optimize your document or your form for mobile devices.
