Hello, welcome to KnowledgeCity's advanced course for Microsoft Visio. My name is Elissa Smith and I come to you with over 20 years of experience teaching others how to increase their knowledge and productivity using Microsoft applications. Now, in this advanced Visio course, our goal is to help you increase your expertise and knowledge to create even more powerful drawings. In this course, you're going to learn how to apply things like shape data, where you can take shapes within a drawing and actually customize them using the shapes data pane. We're also going to look at how you can take shapes and update their styles using the shape styles group and also the other shape including the ability to add things like effects to give your shapes even more detail. In addition, we're going to look at how you can manage your pages of your Visio drawings by adding new pages and also your own custom backgrounds, and then going into page setup to actually edit how those backgrounds work and creating master background pages. We also want you to feel very effective at saving your Visio drawings in other file formats. For example, being able to take a Visio drawing and save it as an AutoCAD drawing or even a JPEG, a graphic file. Now, as we increase our knowledge in Visio, we're going to also look at other types of drawings that utilize information from other applications, like Microsoft Excel and Microsoft Project. We're going to create power pivots, which brings information from a pivot table-styled format in Excel and brings it in and actually displays it in a diagram in Microsoft Visio. We're also going to build pivot, I should say Gantt charts, bringing data in from Microsoft Project, so that we can create timelines and Gantt charts inside of our Visio applications. Finally, we want to look at how you can utilize Visio in collaboration platforms like Microsoft Teams. So for this, we're actually going to go into Teams and show you how you can bring Visio drawings into the channels of your Team, and also how you can access them from your OneDrive for Business. By the end of this course, you will be able to navigate more advanced features inside of Microsoft Visio, allowing you to create effective drawings like timelines and even pivot diagrams, bringing data in from Microsoft Project and Microsoft Excel. This course is for the users who are already confident in creating a variety of drawings in Microsoft Visio and are ready to take on advanced topics. In this course, users will deepen their advanced skills in the application by becoming knowledgeable of functionalities like applying shape data, utilizing advanced shape styles, adding 3Dshapes to drawings, and applying master background pages. This course also teaches users to create their own custom stencils and build and save master shapes. Users will also create and save their own custom Visio templates and create new drawings based on those templates.

The course also focuses on properly using the Visio print screen to control printing and how to export Visio drawings in different formats like AutoCAD and graphic formats. Users will also build drawings based on other files types like Pivot Diagrams from Excel data, and Timeline and Gantt Charts from Microsoft Project. Users will also create Excel charts in a Visio drawing and learn about accessing Visio from inside Microsoft Teams.
