Hi. In this Microsoft Visio course, we want to explore how you can select, move, and rotate your shape. Now first of all, if I have a shape that I bring into my drawing, and that shape is not connected, all I need to do to move that shape, is come to the middle of it while it's selected, notice again up here in my home ribbon, that in the tools group, the pointer tool's turned on. Notice when I hover in the middle of a shape, if I've clicked on it, the sizing handles are visible, and also my mouse pointer looks like four black arrows pointing up, down, left and right. This is how your mouse pointer looks when you're actually ready to move a shape. And all I'm gonna go is start moving the shape around on my, again diagram until I get it where I want it to go. Again those green dashed lines are the live layout guides to help you line up the shape next to other shapes that are already in the diagram. Now when it comes to changing the size of the shape, I can go to any corner, and size it. If I come to the middle of any of the borders of the shape and size, it will also change the size of the shape as well. At the top of a shape when it's selected you'll see a small circle with an arrow. This is the rotate shape option, and when you click on this it allows you to rotate the shape 360 degrees. Now what if that shape has connection points, like these three shapes are connected to each other? When I want to remove a shape that's connected, I have to remember that the connection points will follow wherever the shape move. For example, if I take my point a shape and I drag it over to the right hand side of thee diagram, you'll notice that as I drag the shape, the connector point continues to stay connected to the shape, in the same points where it was originally connected. So it's good to know that those connectors stay part of your shape, but it can also make it a little bit awkward when you begin moving shapes around on your diagram. You may need to remove the connection points, move the shape, and then reconnect it. Cause those connectors are always going to try to keep that shape connected to the other shapes that it already been connected to in your diagram. Thanks so much for watching. In the next lesson we're gonna look at how you can duplicate and delete your shapes.
