Microsoft Visio is software application made for creating a variety of diagrams. These include flowcharts, org charts, building plans, floor plans, data flow diagrams, process flow diagrams, business process modeling, swim lane diagrams, 3D maps, and many more. Microsoft Visio is a part of the Microsoft family but sold as an addition to MS Office. The software currently comes in three editions: Visio Standard, Visio Professional, and Visio Pro for Office 365

This course is for the new users to the Microsoft Visio application. It is designed to take users who are brand new to Visio and help them gain the skills necessary to begin creating simple diagrams on their own. During the progression of this course, you will learn how to effectively navigate in the Visio diagram. You will also learn to create simple flow charts and other diagrams based on Visio’s built-in template library, provide by Microsoft. You will also learn to use the stencils of shapes available through Visio templates to add shapes to diagrams and move, size, and format those shapes. You will also create callouts and groups within your diagrams to further document and organize them. You will also build a flow chart based on Excel data and the Visio Organizational Chart template. This course also includes a section on the Visio online application. Users will learn to access Visio online via Office 365 and how to create and save simple diagrams within their web browser. They will also learn to transition a diagram from Visio online into the Visio desktop application. This course is designed to teach new users what is necessary to begin confidential navigating and creating their own basic diagrams in both the desktop and online edition of Visio.
