Welcome to lesson one where we will create and set up your page. To begin with, you have to be logged into a Facebook account. So I will be using my personal one as my page that I've already logged into. And that is the way that you would get into your Facebook page as well. You can only go in through the page that you create from. So in this case, it would be from my personal page. So what I'm going to do is I'm going to the top right. And by the way to get here, I just clicked on my picture here rather than clicking on home, but you could do it either way. If I click on home, it'll just show you more of my Facebook information. Either way, you want to go to the top right next to your name, and you want to go to the plus sign. When you hover over that, it'll say create. Let's click on create, and we want to create a page. Now, what happens is you get your create a page dialogue that comes up. And for this exercise we are going to use a fictitious business called Mary's Flower Garden. So here again, your page name is going to be whatever the name of your business is. Categories are what people can use to search for you in Facebook up here in our search bar. So this is really important that you choose categories that are going to bring you up in searches. So if people want to buy roses for example, or whatever we're wanting to sell here, that we will come up in that search. So in here, I know that I want to actually put flowers. When I put flower, I'll get a home and garden. And actually I want to put garden center because there will be flowers, but it will be a flower garden center. I know that I'm gonna specialize in roses, so I'm gonna put rose garden. And I also know that this is gonna be a nursery and garden store. So these are the three categories, so that if I were to go and do a search up here, I should be able to bring up our new page, Mary's Flower Garden. In our description, what does this business do? Mary's Flower Garden provides the ultimate experience in flower growing. I'm gonna say flower planting, planting, growing, and displaying. We offer classes on preparing your garden for your new flowers. So basically here you do want to put in something so that if somebody comes here, and let's say, oh okay, I do know that I want to plant flowers so this is gonna be important to me. Character limit is 255, I'm within that. So now I'm gonna go ahead and create the page. So at the bottom, there's a blue bar, bottom left, I'll click on that. That will create the page. Now you'll see after we do this, it gives us other options that we can do while we're setting this up. Next, we'll add our profile picture. So under images, I'll come down to profile picture, click on that. Brings up my Windows explorer box, and I'm going to go to the folder that I've already designated for this, Mary's Flower Garden. And this is gonna be our profile picture, so I actually want to use my logo right here. So Mary's Flower Garden, and it will help people to identify this page. One thing about branding, you want to stay consistent with whatever branding colors that you started. So like in this case, I've kind of used like a beige, a green, and a red. Next, let's add the cover photo. So I'm gonna come down underneath cover photo, do I left-click to add cover photo. And for my cover, because we're having a grand opening, I'm gonna go ahead and click on the grand opening, click on open. And there is my grand opening sale, April the 1st through April the 15th. Now I can drag this to reposition it. And I do that over here on the left, under cover photo, I have the four arrows. So let's see, let's drag it to where I'm not. People will be able to see the 25% off on all plant or rose bulbs on (indistinct). Basically wanting to say, this is a grand opening sale. Once I have it like I want it, I will click save. And that will be the beginning of creating our Facebook page. Thanks for watching. Stay tuned for the next lesson where I will show you how to establish your page identity.
