Forklifts and other powered industrial trucks have revolutionized the way we do logistics, warehousing, construction, and many other important jobs. But these machines handle very differently from cars or other passenger vehicles; and because they’re used to carry heavy loads around other people, it’s critical for forklift and heavy industrial truck operators to have the proper training and certification necessary to do their jobs safely.
In this course, we’ll explore the different elements involved in the safe operation and handling of powered industrial trucks. We’ll highlight the different classes of powered industrial trucks and how they operate, and you’ll learn the proper procedures for inspecting, maintaining, and operating these machines in a variety of different work environments. By the end of this course, you’ll have a solid understanding of forklift stability and handling, how to safely lift and balance loads, and what procedures to follow for different operating conditions.
