Lean principles are guidelines that identify value from the customer's perspective, eliminate wasteful steps in a process, facilitate movement in a strategic sequence, and feverishly pursue continuous improvement. These core concepts are the main drivers behind best-in-class practices in supply chain efficiencies. There are many process improvement tools in lean manufacturing that achieve better efficiencies in the operation. Each has a project charter, or document that outlines the goals, timeline, and leaders of the initiative, along with a process flow map that outlines each step in the current operation so all parties are aligned.
