There are different ways to respond to problems and participate in the process – proactive and reactive problem solving. No matter the approach used to solve problems, there are certain steps in the process. The first is to determine and agree upon what is causing the problem. From there possible alternatives are created, a solution can be chosen, and then implemented. Solving problems in an effective and efficient way requires a continuous growth mindset. This mindset creates an atmosphere that promotes employee empowerment encouraging them to develop creative ways to solve problems or develop new processes. This continuous growth mindset will promote initiative within the employees which will be demonstrated through their acceptance of new tasks and their continued improvement and development.
