Building a successful team is less about who is on the team and more about how they interact and collaborate with one another. When one person behaves a certain way, others will notice the benefits and follow their lead. If existing team members don’t exhibit appropriate behavior for work, others will follow their lead. This can lead to problems with collaboration. For this reason, some team members can model good work behaviors to establish a more effective environment. Other barriers can lead to problems in teams—for instance, some employees lack the skills or knowledge to complete their jobs. If these issues aren’t addressed, it could decrease the team’s productivity. So how do you overcome barriers to team collaboration? What steps can you take to help your team succeed?
In this course, you’ll learn how to create a collaborative team. You’ll learn how to identify role models for collaboration, such as teammates with excellent communication skills. Successful teams also need team norms so everyone will behave expectedly. You’ll also learn some barriers to collaboration and how to overcome them.
