It covers California's Child Abuse and Neglect Reporting Act and AB1963, defining child maltreatment, identifying neglect, physical abuse, sexual abuse, emotional abuse, and human trafficking, cultural considerations, talking to children about suspected abuse, institutional responsibility to report, making a report, failure to report and false reports, what happens after a report is filed, and Child Protective Services.
Because the law has been amended several times to identify professionals considered mandated reporters, and effective Jan. 1, 2021 certain human resources professionals and frontline supervisors became mandated reporters; the course helps you understand these new changes.
