In these lessons we're gonna learn about account settings within Windows 11. In this lesson we're gonna talk about your account in Windows 11. Things have changed a little bit since Windows 10. So let me take you through the steps on how it gets created. So we're gonna go into Settings, just as normal. And we're gonna choose Account. So the first thing you need to do is obviously create your own with your info. You can take a photo with the camera if your machine has one, or you can choose a photo that's on the file. You can also assign your account, either administrator or user account. I would suggest that if this is your account on your machine, make yourself an administrator. You can also create a local account if you'd like. Microsoft obviously recommends that you use a Microsoft account because of all of the sinking that is going on now, especially with One Drive. Since they're pushing you into the online world, it's much better to use a Microsoft account than a local account. And what we mean by local account, that means an account that only exists on the machine that you're using. So it's very limited in what it can do outside of that machine. So if you don't have a Microsoft account already, they're free to set up. You just go to the Microsoft website and create yourself an account with an msn.com at the end. Free of charge, and you're off and running. So that's where you create an account for you on the system. Now, if this was a system you're setting up, you would go through this step while you were installing the OS. But if this is a machine that's already been loaded with Windows 11, you can come in here and create an account for yourself. So now that you know how to create accounts, like I said, I recommend creating yourself one as the administrator.
