In work environments, you may encounter hazards that make floors and working areas less safe. Sometimes you’ll need to access a high area or cross a floor that’s more slippery than usual. In our course on Walking and Working Surfaces, we’ll address what to look out for in your workplace and how to make sure the resources you need are being provided, as well as when you should address safety concerns with your supervisor. Work accidents are more common than some professionals believe, but most of those accidents are preventable with awareness and diligence.
Many accidents are caused by assumptions about working conditions that may not always turn out to be true. We’ll discuss OSHA regulations regarding how to resolve higher-risk situations if you encounter them and how to safely interact with your work environment under unexpected conditions. We’ll also cover how to look out for issues with stairs and ladders before using them, so you can be certain you’re only using fully functional equipment and conducting yourself in the safest way possible.
