It covers the requirements of the HAZCOM standard, the hazards associated with different types of HAZMATs, and what you can do to avoid those hazards, including how to respond if you are exposed to a hazardous material.
You will understand both your own and your employer's responsibilities when hazardous materials are present in your workplace.
Lessons include an introduction, sources of HAZMAT info, PPE and safe storage, responding to a spill, exposure to HAZMAT, carcinogens and radioactive material, flammables/combustibles/oxidizers, toxins/corrosives/irritants, and a conclusion.
It relates to Hazard Communication (HazCom), the Hazard Communication Standard (HCS), HAZWOPER, Dangerous Goods/Hazmat Transport, and Hazmat Endorsement.
