In this program we will discuss the hazards of electricity, the federal standards that have been established to protect you from those standards, and what you can do to work more safely with electricity.
By the end of this course, you will be able to recognize potential electrical hazards on your worksite, and will know how to adequately warn and protect yourself and your community from them. You will also understand the laws and regulations surrounding these hazards, the institutions that established them, and why they were created.
You will learn how to identify electrical hazards, how to work safely with electricity, and how to understand the federal safety laws surrounding these hazards.
It covers an introduction; tools, extension cords, and receptacles; high voltage power lines; grounding, continuity, and GFCIs; electrical hazards and OSHA standards; and a conclusion.
By the end you will be able to recognize potential electrical hazards on your worksite and know how to adequately warn and protect yourself and your community from them.
It addresses electrical safety, electrical safety testing, electrical safety in the workplace (NFPA 70e), the Low Voltage Directive, the National Electrical Safety Code, and NCCER Managing Electrical Hazards.
