In this lesson, I will show you how to create motion graphics within Adobe Premiere Pro. Let's get started. So the first thing you'll want to do is create a new text layer. So within this, we're going to work out of the graphics workspace. One thing to denote is there is a captions and graphics workspace. But for this, we're going to use the graphics workspace. So you click on the graphics workspace. And the first thing you'll note is that the essential graphics panel opens here. You can also open that by going to window and then down to essential graphics, if it doesn't open for you for some reason. Once you open essential graphics the first time, you'll notice that it defaults to templates that you have already preloaded in your Adobe Premiere Pro. And Adobe does have a nice array of templates that you can select from by going to Adobe.com. But for this, we're going to create a new text layer. So to do that, you click on the type tool to create a new text layer. You click on the program monitor. One thing to denote is that if you are anywhere else within your Adobe Premiere, that type tool icon is not going to be available. It's going to default to your selection tool. But once we're in there, then you would go and you'd click and you type in whatever you want the graphic to be. So once you have your graphic of how you want it to at least start, then there are many ways to customize it. And that includes the color, if you want a background, a shadow in the position, and also if you wanted to put a stroke around that, one other key thing that you'll want to do is you want to make sure that your graphic fits on your screen. And so I have the safe title selected. And so to do that, you just go to the safe margins by right clicking in your program monitor. But that gives you an idea of roughly where the graphic is going to hit on your screen if you so chose if you so choose to use them. So let's say you want to change the font type. We'd go into the text portion of the effects. You'd go into the text portion of the essential graphics and you'd select whichever one that you want. And this is very similar to any of the other programs out there that you might use to create something where you need a font, whether that's Word or Excel, whether that's Word or PowerPoint or Google Docs or anything like that, it's very similar to that. Now it is going to default to whatever the thinnest version of the font is. So for this one, it's regular. That's the only one you have. But if you selected something that had more than one option, so let's say railway, then it would go to thin and then you would go there and go to a thicker one if that's what you want. But you could also just go to the thin version if that's the look that you're going for. Now, once you have your font type, then you can change the font size to something that is a little bit more on what you're looking for. If you wanted to be kind of subtle, then you can go small. You want it to be very noticeable, then you could go something larger. It's really on your preference on what you want your preference or your client's preference on what they want there. So one other thing that you can do is if you go to the selection tool, then you can slide this over into a position that you want. If you use the title tool, then it is going to go to wherever your marker is on your timeline here. It will go to wherever your play head here. It'll go to wherever your play head is on your timeline. So one thing that you could do is you can extend this by going onto the timeline and just pulling the handle to wherever you want it to go. But once you are done with that, then if you click off of the graphic like in your timeline and nothing selected, then you can't do anything. But if you click on the graphic and you get this the if you click off the graphic, then you get this default of just transform and responsive design. But if you wanted to edit that, then you just click on it and then you're able to go back in and then you double click and you're able to change anything, which includes your color. So let's say we wanted to make that green. Now, I'm only doing a portion of it just to show you that it only will do the changes for whatever you have highlighted. So I only have the tutorial part loaded and that's the only thing that changed the graphic for did not. But if you wanted to do the whole thing, then you can select everything. And you'll notice that the fill is now going to blank because you have more than one option to choose. But since you have everything selected, once you make the changes, then it will go to that. So you can also change if you wanted to have a stroke around it. And you can see that there can also do if you have a drop shadow and we'll go on or off. And you can also do a background if you wanted to make sure that it stood out from the rest of the from the rest of what you have on your edit. And so that's what that looks like there. And so we'll go back in. And you can also customize the positions over this one. We're going to go center center. So center horizontal center horizontally and center vertically. And now your center center there. One other option that you do have is if you wanted to add a shape. So you'd go to your graphic and then sorry, just undid some things just so you can kind of see what we're talking about here. So you have your graphic selected and then you want to add in a shape. And so whenever you are doing something in a central graphics, it's going to go from the top down. So as you are creating more things, then you would have to move it to below. And then once you do, then everything on top of it goes from there. And so you have your graphic there. And we're going to move everything so that everything is aligned there. And so now you have equal space all around your graphic tutorial graphic. So congratulations. You've completed the Adobe Premiere Pro Motion Graphics Intro. You've learned how to create and edit text layers and create captivating shapes. Remember, practice makes perfect.
