Hello, my name is Devin, and in these lessons you will learn the purpose and use cases of Microsoft Power Pages. You'll learn how to create a Power Page and also how to select a potential template. You'll learn how to add, modify, and interact with control elements on a Power Page. Control elements being elements similar to what you see on the screen here with this drop town element, text input element, as well as a button element. You'll also learn how to do some basic styling with Power Pages and also do some layout to meet your business needs you have for your website. In this lesson, I will show you the purpose and potential benefits of using Power Pages. So Power Pages is designed for anyone who wants to create a professional website without needing the right complex code or relying on developers. So whether you're a business user or even a pro developer, Power Pages has something to offer for you. Power Pages has a ton of pre-made customizable templates to get you kick-started on whatever type of website you're trying to design, providing you both with layout options as well as some content. You can also use the fluid visual experience of the new design studio to quickly select color palettes as well as basic styling to both put your website together. This lets you preview what your website will look like in real time without having to execute any code or doing any sort of rendering. And if you ever need additional inspiration for getting started with your Power Page, there are community options associated with the Learn Page, the Power Page Home Page for getting you started with how to do particular types of customization that might suit your business needs. But Power Pages is not only easy to use in terms of a design standpoint, but it's also very secure and scalable. So you can collect and store business data from your site visitors using the Dataverse. And you can also use the Dataverse to display dashboards for external users. One of the big use cases for Power Pages is the ability to quickly build websites that are accessible to users outside of your Microsoft environment or your organization. This is one of the key differentiators between Power Pages and something like a SharePoint website. SharePoint sites are traditionally built for internal users, so co-workers at your organization, they're not typically accessible to outside users. Power Pages are a little different in that you can design these very simple and easy to use websites and also add data from your organization and publish it in a way that external users can get at it. And since all of the data associated with your Power Pages stored in the Dataverse, the Dataverse being Microsoft's cloud-based data platform, you don't have to worry about security, governance, or compliance. Microsoft takes care of a lot of that for you. One of the things that you can easily manage should you need to within Power Pages is permissions for your different site pages, so you'd be able to, like, if we go to our home page, we would be able to adjust who has access to this page by setting different permission levels. We could either make it public to anyone or we could set it so only specific users from our security group can see that. So Power Pages is ultimately a real game-changer platform for creating modern, external, facing business websites. It lets you do more with less by enabling all your team, not just developers, create websites that suit your unique business needs.
