Course Description

All applications that need to get and submit data in UI applications must make HTTP calls. Angular provides the HTTPClient module to do all these operations. In these lessons, we will explore the HTTP client class and its different methods.

Observables are a key part of working with the Angular framework. Angular includes the RxJs library to work with observables and data streams. We’ll discuss what Observables, Subjects, and Behavior subjects are, along with how to use RxJs operators. This is key to understanding how to pass data across your Angular applications, and how services and components can share data with many subscribers.

In most Angular applications you as a developer will be required to make HTTP requests to the backend / server. Any application with CRUD functionality in Angular will use the HTTP client module and class. In these lessons, we will go over how to use this HTTPClient class to make API requests. You will also learn about Angular’s powerful RxJs libraries and how to use Observables.

What You'll Learn

  • Use the Angular HTTPClient class and module to make HTTP calls for getting and submitting data
  • Make API requests and handle CRUD functionality against a backend/server in Angular
  • Understand Observables, Subjects, and Behavior Subjects in Angular
  • Work with the RxJs library and its operators to handle data streams
  • Subscribe to Observables and apply pipes to share data across components and services
  • Display API response data within Angular components

Key Takeaways

  • All UI applications that get and submit data must make HTTP calls, and Angular provides the HTTPClient module to perform these operations.
  • Any Angular application with CRUD functionality uses the HTTP client module and class to make API requests to the backend or server.
  • Angular includes the RxJs library to work with Observables and data streams.
  • Observables are a key part of working with the Angular framework and are central to passing data across Angular applications.
  • Using Observables, services and components can share data with many subscribers.
