Hello, my name is Alyssa, and in these lessons we will go over Adobe XD plugins. Plugins enhance the designing experience by automating complex to complete tasks and enabling integration with external tools and services. Most of the plugins are built by third party developers. If your computer needs an administrator in order to make any changes to it, you will be needing that to install any plugins. It would be beneficial if you have not yet used it to have Adobe's Creative Cloud app running. It is the easiest way to access plugin choices. Plugin choices are going to be different for each individual and dependent upon your needs for the project. Let's open a new file. I'm currently in the home screen, and I'm just gonna click on the blue new file button. This gives me the default 1920 by 1080 art board. Also now though, are three icons visible on the bottom here, including this is what I think of as a little Lego piece, or a plug, and I'm gonna click on it. It represents the plugins. If I had any plugins, they would be listed here. I removed them for demonstration purposes so I can show you that when there aren't any, you will see the discover plugins button. We're going to go ahead and click on it now, and you'll see that it opens up the Adobe Creative Cloud app and takes us right to the plugins tab. From here we can search for any plugins or just scroll through various choices. And you can see we can look by categories, such as design assets, usability and testing. An unlimited amount of choices. I'm gonna go ahead in here, and I'm going to type in icons because I really like icons, and I think it'll be a fun one to look up for our example. I'm pressing the return key, and here are the choices that come up. I like the idea that this one is so highly rated that it has five stars compared to the one next to it, which has only two. So I'm gonna go ahead and click on install. It'll probably take a couple minutes, show you. First I get a warning that this has been developed by a third party. I trust this app, so I'm gonna go ahead and say okay. And it's gonna do its thing and spin around on here. What I'm looking to do now is have a plugin installed for us to explore together. This one is probably longer than some of the others because of the fact that there's a lot to it. Some are gonna take less time than others. I'm gonna go ahead now and open XD back up. And now we have an icon listed in here. We have the icons for design. If we wanna add more, we have our discover plugin now is actually this plus sign over here by plugins.
